One In The Spirit

Large Group of Happy People standing together. There will be times in our lives wherein what we have within us is not enough to carry us through whatever station of life we are in. This is why God called us to be a community…a family…the Body of Christ. Each member has its particular gift(s) and functions in conjunction with the rest of the members of the Body (1 Cor. 12). We were not designed to function independently, but interdependently.

helping-upOf course, we rely upon God, for He is the Source from Whom we draw our strength. But we also rely upon one another. Paul teaches us to “bear ye one another’s burdens…” (Gal. 6:2), and “…we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves…” (Rom. 15:1). In other words, we should be so interconnected that if you hurt, I should feel your pain and do whatever is possible to alleviate your pain. Conversely, if I am in need, then you should be able to assist me in my hour of need. However, this can only be done when we are truly one in the Spirit (Jn. 17:11, 22).

unityThe more we practice unity, the more we will become unified. The more we ‘walk in the Spirit’ of Christ, the more we will become unified. The more we surrender ourselves to Christ, the more we will become unified. Self must die in order for us to truly live. There will never be any unity unless there is first a denial of ourselves for the greater good of the entire Body of Christ…#‎thinkonthesethings

  1. Awesome thoughts and truths. May I also add that at times it is also important to withdraw and go to a place where you can refresh and fellowship with God in a deep way. Ideally it should be a place where there is only you and God. In this busy world we live in, it can be very hard to be “still before God” – but if we don’t, we will miss something precious, something we need, something we can’t have any other way. “Come to the waters, and drink”. God bless….

    • It is always important to have that quiet time. I actually just finished writing a piece this morning during my quiet time about getting back to our first love and listening to what He is saying. See! We’re “One in the Spirit!”😃

      • Ha ha, we sure are brother. I will be posting a new YouTube clip soon…. hoping it will be beneficial for those wanting to go deeper with God. We’re new to the YouTube thing… just waiting for it to load at the moment, its taking ages. 10.30pm here in Australia so I would like to get to bed! Bless you and your family 🙂

      • Awesome! I can’t wait to see it! I’ve been thinking about posting on YouTube as well…but I have to take one thing at a time…I have so many things going through my mind right now that it’s sometimes difficult to keep up with them. It’s like God is pouring things into my spirit at break-neck speed. I’m enjoying the ride though. Hope you get a chance to get some rest soon 🙂

      • finally its on…. and to all a goodnight 🙂
