A time will come wherein we will be required to ‘step out of the nest and attempt to fly on our own. ‘ At first, we may flutter and flounder, but we can rest assured in the fact that God is never so far away from that His eye is not upon to see us in our moments of distress (Ex. 19:4; 2 Chron. 16:9; Ps. 34:15; Prov. 15:3). He will come to assist us and return us back to the nest to ‘rest our wings’ before encouraging us to take the initial step again (Deut. 32:11).
At some point, God will shake the nest again and cause us to become uncomfortable, thereby, acknowledging the fact that it time to leave the nest again. We tend to want to remain in the nest wherein we are being fed milk, which will eventually stunt our ability to grow, develop and mature as we need. Therefore, we will become spiritually developmentally delayed and ineffective in the doing the work of the ministry. Paul stated,
“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able” (1 Cor. 3:1,2).
We will never know what exploits can be accomplished in God’s name and for His glory if we remain within the four walls of the church (Dan. 11:32). Ministry begins at home. Ministry, then, spreads to the church and eventually into the community. However, if we continue to remain in the nest and drinking milk instead of making attempts to eat enough meat wherein we will have the strength and ability to fly, then we will remain spiritually developmentally delayed and ineffective…#thinkonthesethings
