Many Thoughts, One Plan

Are we open to hearing what God wants to communicate to us? Our cry for more of God rises up to His throne room in the heavens, and He responds. We may not like to admit it, but we, sometimes, have preconceived thoughts of what the answer will be based upon what we would like for the answer to be. This seems to be a recurring theme, but are our desires aligned with God’s plan for us (Jer. 29:11-14)?

We tend to become confused because we unknowingly use the word ‘plan’ in its plural form as we insert it into the abovementioned text. The problem with this is the fact that God has many thoughts towards us, but only one plan for us. For example, when we sit down to begin a business, we must start out by formulating a business plan. Within this business plan, there are many components that address the purpose of beginning the business, as well as, the end desire of the individuals involved in beginning the business. Likewise, when God discloses certain things to us and shows us glimpses of things to come, He is really showing us the ‘unique business plan’ that He has formulated for each of us specifically.

God did not create alternative plans for His creation. He had one specific plan in mind. Although human and satanic activity has caused an interruption within God’s initial plan, God had already made provision to steer the created back on course in order for His plan to continue to be fulfilled (Is. 46:9-11).

We, each, have a God-ordained plan for our lives. The individual plan for our lives are all “components” which make up the whole. The overall plan of God will be fulfilled at the consummation of the ages. So we must ask God, “Where do I fit into Your plan?” In the end, His plan does not fit into our lives…our lives fit into His plan…#‎thinkonthesethings‬

  1. Great: The more we stick to God’s business plan and have faith and patience the smoother it works out! 😉

  2. Sean,
Thanks for this thought-provoking post. Most of the time I don’t know how I fit into God’s plan–even though I know God wants and needs me. I’m thinking of Joseph and his brothers–you meant it for evil; God meant it for good. God might use things in my life that I think are unredeemable, and discard what I think is first-rate! Scary, actually. But not really, since it’s in God’s hands, not mine.
    Thanks again, Sean.

    • Elouise,
I think we all go through the same stage. Some are more affected by it than others. It sometimes becomes difficult to surrender our plans to God in exchange for His plan…even when we know that His plan is far greater than anything we could ever imagine. I’m personal in a state of transition and am both excited and nervous at the same time. But all in all, I have to stand by what I’ve professed concerning my faith in God’s wisdom and His ability to see through until the end. Thanks for sharing as always! 😃
