Exodus 36:8 – 40:33 teaches us a very important lesson for life as children of the Most High. Within the parameters of these verses, we observe the making of the Tabernacle and all of the essential pieces that were to be used in the service of the sanctuary. Previously, God had given wisdom, knowledge, understanding of the task at hand and the ability to both do and teach others how to accomplish the work to Bezaleel and Aholiab (Ex. 35:30 – 36:4).
Now the work was being completed. The workers placed great effort into ensuring that every intricate detail, that had been communicated to them, was being followed with great attention. There was no margin for error because this was the place that God had chosen to dwell in among the people of Israel. This was a foreshadow of the things to come, and therefore, had a greater meaning than what lie above the surface (Heb. 9).
1) He lives within us as the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle upon its completion, and 2) the same care and value that was placed in constructing the tabernacle and its components is placed upon our lives when God is reconstructing our lives (1 Cor. 3:6-17; 2 Cor. 6:14 – 7:1).
God cares about every little intricate detail of our lives so much that He offers to lead us and guide us into all truth (Jn. 16:13). Why? He does this in order to ensure that our lives have been and are being prepared continuously as a dwelling place for Him wherein He can meet with us upon the mercy seat of our hearts at any time and in any location. God wants to be an integral part of our everyday life so much that He makes us vessels for Himself to be able to interact with us on an individual and collective basis. He placed such a high premium upon our lives that He gave us His Son to redeem us and His Holy Spirit to reconstruct and keep us!
In the end, when we are tempted to feel despondent about the way our lives are going, we can take refuge in knowing that every little detail of our lives matter to God. He has invested so much into securing our salvation and perfection that no monetary value can be placed upon us. Because God cares this much for us…every little detail matters…#thinkonthesethings
