Functioning in the service of God is a role that is not to be taken lightly. Handling the sacred things of God, as mentioned in previous posts, is something that must be approached with the utmost reverence and respect. We cannot handle the sacred things of God as we would anything else in life. They are not common. They are not ordinary. They are not natural. This would even extend to our lives.
As we begin to function in the service of God, in order to stand in the holy place, we must approach His holy hill with clean hands and a pure heart (Ps. 24:3,4). Therefore, we must examine ourselves (2 Cor. 13:5). Through the Word. Through prayer and fasting. By the Holy Spirit. Upon meditating on those things which we find that are out of place and not in alignment with God and His standard for living (holiness), we must sanctify and consecrate ourselves unto the Lord for His service (Ex. 32:9; Lev. 11:44; 20:7,8).
Remember…“…all things are lawful unto me (us), but all things are not expedient…your body (our bodies) is (are) the temple (s) of the Holy Ghost Which is in you (us), Which ye (we) have of God, and ye (we) are not your (our) own? For ye (we) have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body (our bodies), AND in your spirit (our spirit), which are God’s…” (1 Cor. 6:12,19,20).
Make a declaration today to consecrate yourself again unto God for His service…set aside time each day to rededicate yourself to God and complete your first works again…some of us have left our First Love and we need need to return by way of the altar…we need to lay ourselves upon the altar once again…we need to be consecrated and sanctified once again…but let’s not let it end there…we need to remain upon the altar in order to allow the fire of the Holy Spirit to consume us completely…
No more I, but Christ Who lives inside of me…#thinkonthesethings
