As we look around us, we can see that there are many more things vying for our attention. Technological advances and developments are increasingly becoming difficult to keep up with as new things are being introduced to us almost daily. The purpose of the manufacturers is to produce new devices that will cause us to continue to remain loyal to them and their brands. Guess what?…It works…
We, unconsciously, give our allegiance to a certain brand because of our level of comfort and knowledge of the intricate details of their products. This is similar to other things in life as well. We have a propensity to devote so much of our lives to other people and things that compete for our undivided attention and loyalty that we do not realize that, in many instances, we are providing an open door for the enemy to gain a foothold into our lives, thus, causing us to slowly turn away from our devotion to God (2 Cor. 2:11). Initially, it all seems harmless. However, over time, the seeds that have been sown will begin to blossom and its fruit will soon follow.
We must realize and constantly remind ourselves, as Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5,
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…”
The Body of Christ must realize that we are living in a time wherein it is of the utmost importance that we distinguish ourselves from the elements of this world. We must realize that the time has come for to decide to whom we are pledging our allegiance. The enemy knows that “…Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand…” (Mt. 12:25). We must realize that we are daily fighting in a spiritual battle against an enemy who “…cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” (Jn. 10:10). His ultimate goal is to prevent as many of God’s children from engaging in Kingdom building and to, eventually, cause them turn away from God.
We must listen to Christ’s warning that we “…take heed that no man deceive you (us)...” (Mt. 24:5), for the time is sure to come,
“…when the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory: And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: and He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left…” (Mt. 25:31-33).
So, in other words, if we cannot make a decision as to whose side we are on, eventually, the decision will be made for us (Mt. 25:34, 41)…#thinkonthesethings
