“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts…” (Jam. 4:3).
What are our motives when we ask God for things? If we ask for things that we do not need nor is in His will for our lives in light of eternity and the advancement of His Kingdom, then we are asking with the wrong motive. It does not mean that what we are asking for is bad. It just means that what we are asking for is not beneficial to us nor will it help us in fulfilling God’s purpose and plan for our lives. We have to trust that God our Father knows what is best for us.
