Solitude: The God Choice

Solitude is being alone on purpose for a purpose.

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil…” (Mt. 4:1).

What is the difference between solitude and isolation? Solitude is being alone on purpose for a purpose. Isolation is being blocked away from your purpose on purpose. God places us in solitude and we are never alone. Satan isolates so that we are alone. Solitude is rooted in focused reflection and meditation. Isolation is rooted in distracted thinking. Solitude has an Internal force as its Source. Isolation has an external force as its source. Solitude is ordained by God. Isolation is an obstacle from Satan. We have to be in a spiritual position to be able to discern the difference!
