“And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law…” (Neh. 8:9).
This verse is packed with spiritual riches. It causes us to wonder, “Does the Word cause us to cry out over our condition? Do we feel the burning power of the Word within our hearts seeking to cleanse and purify us? Do we yield to what God our Father is doing within us through His Word? Have we really become so desensitized to hearing the Word that It no longer has any effect on us?” When was the last time God’s Word had this kind of an effect on us?…Powerful is all I can say!
