Sharing Is Caring

It does not take much for to demonstrate how the love of God is at work within our lives.

“…My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth…” (1 Jn. 3:18)

The talk of community within the Body of Christ brings about a form of spiritual anxiety among the believers. The idea of sharing what we have with others after we have struggled many times to obtain our possessions is a difficult thing about which to contemplate. Yet we call ourselves ‘little Christs’ but do not bear any resemblance of His nature within. It does not take any deep theological lesson from a Biblical scholar to point this out to us. The Apostle John puts it in this manner,

“…But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him…” (1 Jn. 3:17).

Placing ourselves within the situation of others will give a brand new perspective from which we can view life. It brings a greater understanding to us and causes us to engage in acts of compassion more randomly. This is not a one time act, but a lifestyle in which God expects us to engage on a daily basis. We all often fall very short of the mark…so there is no room for placing blame on others. We should try it and continue to make giving a habitual practice until it becomes a regular part of our daily lives. It is what Christ would have wanted out of our lives…
