The Need For Peace

One can only know true peace once they truly know the Lord of peace...

“When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it…” (Deut. 20:10).

Does the act of war reveal the true nature of humanity? Is it truly possible to resolve our differences of opinion through diplomacy and peaceful means as opposed to resorting to violence as the only method which guarantees the feigned peace that will be the end result? Are things such as acts of compassion and human concern, or even the harmful effects on the environment of given any consideration when preparing to wage war against others? Or are we so determined to prove that our ideological beliefs are the right ones and every one must be adhere to them, even by compulsion if necessary?

True peace will only come when we understand and allow the principles of God’s Kingdom to set the standard by which we live. When God’s principles for living are lived out within the home, our communities will be affected. When communities are affected by the life within the homes of the community, the city will be impacted. Once the cities are impacted by the influence from the principles of God’s Kingdom, then the ideological beliefs of nations will be changed and the world will eventually be greatly influenced to change.

All it takes is for one person to decide to follow peace with all men (Heb. 12:14), according to Biblical principles, and we will begin to see the Kingdom of God rise up, not only within us, but also among us within the world us as well.
