Why I Need God’s Word (A Personal Moment)…

God's Word is an essential part of every believer's daily life.

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding…” (Deut. 4:5,6).

Another day of silence…I am still learning how to sit still and wait. I must admit, that on some occasions, it is not easy. Especially when you are like me…the person who loves to seek the Scriptures for new nuggets to apply to my life and to share with others as well. However, I understand that these days come and cause me to search after God even harder because I truly want to hear from Him.

I want to hear from Him because I know that His Word is “a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path…” (Ps. 119:105). It gives me direction and and helps me to make right choices because my steps have been ordered in His Word (Ps. 119:133). Because of this, I have found it very necessary to take the daily portion which is right for me, lest I become full and deny the very God of my salvation (Prov. 30:9). This is something I would never want to do…just the thought of it breaks my heart…

This is why I need the Word…every day…It brings balance and hope to my life daily…It brings comfort and peace to my life…It defines who I am to God and Who He is to me…It gives my life meaning…I treasure it…It is surely my most prized possession…I cannot imagine ever going back to living life without It…

  1. I pray this for God’s people everywhere. What a difference it would make if we all were soaking in God’s Word daily. Have a blessed day as you commune with Him.

  2. Yes, I have had some of those silent days myself. But when He speaks it refreshes the soul altogether. When desire comes it is a tree of life. There is nothing like hearing His words as they do give meaning to life.
