The Freedom In Which We Live

The freedom which we possess was much too costly for us to not demonstrate our gratitude through obedience.

“And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein…” (Deut. 26:1).

As believers, we live in freedom under the rule of our Heavenly Father in a place wherein we are privileged to enjoy the rich blessings from His providential hand. Everything needed for life has been provided for us. We lack nothing spiritually, and we lack nothing physically. All that our Father requests from us is that we show our gratitude by living in obedience to His commands.

The only way to be able to live obediently to His commands is to remind ourselves of them daily wherein they become an intricate part of our lives. Everyone in the community benefits when there is complete obedience. Conversely, everyone in the community suffers whenever there is disobedience. This has been the continuous lesson taught throughout the Book of Deuteronomy up until this point.

As we witness the mighty move of God in our lives daily, it should cause us to make Him the center of our individual and communal lives. It should bring us to our knees in humble submission to His will for our lives. It should cause our hearts to burst forth in praise, adoration, worship and thanksgiving for the personal relationship we have been honored and privileged to have with the Creator of the Universe. It should cause us to live in obedience to His commands because of the love we have for Him in return for the great love He has shown unto us by redeeming us and setting us free to live in complete liberty through His Son, Jesus the Christ.
