“And the peace of God, which passed all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus…” (Phil. 4:7).
During my time of personal devotion, I struggled through my reading of the Word and with walking away with nothing. But as I neared the end of my time, a song came on entitled, ‘Philippians 4:7’, by Fred Hammond and Radical For Christ. The song began to minister to me because it spoke to my current situation. So I went back to my Bible and read the Scripture itself. As I begin to read the verse, God’s peace swept over my soul and lifted the burden that I was carrying and which had caused me to lose yet another night of sleep.
God’s peace is a healing balm and brings comfort to the weary soul. It restores the joy that once resided within and brings a smile to your face as you begin to bask in the ever-abiding presence of the glory of the King. It reassures us that we truly are never alone and that He is with us every step of the way in our life’s journey. Our Heavenly Father will not allow anything to harm us as He will continue to be our Shield and Buckler against the forces of darkness. We can rest easy as the peace of God envelopes us and calms the storms within our lives.
