“That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever…” (Josh. 4:24).
Do we know that we are sometimes so self-centered. Even within the Body of Christ. Yes, especially within the Body of Christ. We place ourselves as the focal point of every blessing given to us by God.
The signs and wonders done in our lives were not meant to be kept to ourselves. The signs and wonders were meant to be an opportunity to share the goodness of the Lord with others. Not only our brothers and sisters within the Body of Christ. But more specifically with those outside of the Body of Christ.
This is an opportunity to share the Gospel of the Kingdom with others of the Kingdom. What is the purpose? The purpose is to: 1) bring them into the Kingdom, 2) bring them to the point of salvation, 3) bring them to the point of understanding and seeing their need of a Savior, and 4) bring them to the realization that they will never find peace and true joy in life apart from God. But does it end there? No.
The ultimate purpose is to bring greater glory to God. Why? Because the more God is magnified and enlarged in the eyes of the world, the more He will be able to draw others to Himself. This will also lead to God being able to: 1) bring others into His family, 2) pull others from the clutches of the enemy, and 3) snatch out of the kingdom of darkness and bring them into the light of His Kingdom. This results in the people of the earth knowing Him more. The more this happens, the more this cycle will continue.
The overall point is to understand that the blessing and the promise is not meant to be kept to ourselves. It is meant to be a witness in the sight of others. Once we internalize this and accept it as a part of fulfilling our purpose, we will desire more. Not for selfish desires, but for the advancing of our Heavenly Father’s Kingdom.
