Words Of Encouragement (Weekend Edition)

Welcome to our weekly word of encouragement series. Each week, we will be presenting an encouraging scriptural verse for our readers. We believe this is one of our responsibilities of service as Christ's disciples.

“…Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: Thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy…” (Ex. 15:6).

The enemy is a master of illusion. He does whatever he can to cause the mere perception of defeat in our lives. If we were not connected to God and to one another, we would be without hope. There is only one thing we need to remember: God is on our side until the very end.

We should not attempt to live our lives in our own power. Our victory lies in God’s power alone.

When we speak of God’s right hand, we are referring to a symbol of power and authority. In God’s case, it would be a symbol of His absolute, sovereign power and authority over every part of creation. This includes our enemies as well. The beautiful thing about this is that He loves us so much that He has imparted unto us the same power and authority over the enemy. No…we do not have unlimited power. However, when we appropriate it in the name of Jesus, we are invoking God to act in our stead.

The enemy knows this, and for this reason, he attempts to keep us in the dark about the level of access we have to the keys to God’s Kingdom. God sends us daily reminders through His Word, through others and even, sometimes, through the rest of His creation. God’s power and majesty extends far beyond anything we can comprehend. It is far more greater than anything the enemy can throw our way. In other words, with God on our side, we will always emerge victorious!
