Words Of Encouragement (Weekend Edition)

Welcome to our weekly word of encouragement series. Each week, we will be presenting an encouraging scriptural verse for our readers. We believe this is one of our responsibilities of service as Christ's disciples.

“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law…” (Deut. 29:29).

Make no mistake…God desires to share “the thoughts that I (God) think toward you…” (Jer. 29:11). God is not in the business of withholding information that will assist us in fulfilling our purpose in life. He does not always share everything upfront, but He shares what He knows is on our level of spiritual maturity.

God opens up His reservoir of secrets to us as we continue to engage in close relationship with Him.

The thoughts He has concerning us are “…of peace, and not of evil…” (Jer. 29:11). One thing we can be assured of is that whatever God has in mind is far greater than anything we can imagine (Eph. 3:20). We have to trust that what He allows is only going to have one outcome…our good (Rom. 8:28).

When we receive “thoughts” from the heart of God, we must write them down with the understanding that there is an appointed time for its manifestation (Hab. 2:2-3). Trust that during the period of waiting, God is working everything out towards the expected end He has had in mind the whole time (Jer. 29:11).
