Merging Forward Into Your Destiny
By Stephanie Scott
Acsah comes forward into her destiny in 1 Chronicles 2:49. The daughter of a concubine woman and the prize of a winning fight. I am quite sure she questioned her place in life. I am quite sure she wondered if she was ever really wanted. Acsah had no rights to anything of her own simply because of her birth state. No concubine was entitled to inherit anything. They were the property of the owner, not the covenant partner entitled to what was left in the will. She looked beyond her circumstances and took a chance to ask the man who had won her for something. Just one thing. She was given to Otheniel, whose name means first judge, lion, and might of God. She connected to her strength and gained boldness. She approached Caleb, Otheniel’s uncle and asked for the spring of Neger. She wanted it to provide water to a people there living in a barren land. She stepped outside of herself, her circumstances, her environment, and stepped into destiny for others. Her reward of faith, a people receiving a water flow that never ran dry. Have faith, believe God, and trust that He is your rereward. That means God has your back and will not leave you without an answer and reward of your request. Eyes forward, feet flat, back strong, there is destiny waiting.
